The problem

Admissions are falling and explanations abound: the weather, the competition, household budgets. Sometimes they are true. More often the venue has simply been seen by its local audience, which is the audience that comes back, and nothing has changed since opening.

The reflex is then to rebuild everything. That is the most expensive decision and rarely the right one.

What the audit covers

• A visit in real conditions, during trading hours.
• Activity-by-activity diagnosis: what fills, what does not, and why.
• Analysis of the customer journey, from booking to exit.
• Review of session slots, durations and turnover.
• Prioritised action plan: what costs little and pays quickly, what needs investment, what is not worth doing.

The most frequent outcome

Renewing one room out of three rather than rebuilding the venue. That is what we did at Le Temple in La Rochelle: one action game room renewed, the venue kept open, and the reopening used as a commercial event.
